One quick look this summer was all it took for St. Thomas Aquinas football coach Tim Budd to be rooting for Columbiana Crestview.

Repository writer Todd Porter disclosed last week that Tim Budd, St. Thomas Aquinas’ first-year head football coach, was so discouraged by his team’s 0-3 start to the season that he penned a letter of resignation.

Budd never turned it in. His Knights never quit. They turned things around and made the playoffs for the first time since 1988.
