CANTON  When senior Joel Rich turned a fake punt into a crucial fourth-quarter rushing first down against Northwest on Friday, it did more than turn the game in St. Thomas Aquinas’ favor.

COLUMBUS  A big win by Massillon last week put the Tigers on top of their region, while Marlington remains on top of its region despite losing its first game of the year.

LOUISVILLE  It looked like upset-minded Northwest was going to get the ball back midway through Friday’s fourth quarter, down just a touchdown to St. Thomas Aquinas.

Looks can be deceiving.

COLUMBUS  The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its weekly football computer ratings today. The weekly computer ratings are released every Tuesday afternoon beginning after the fourth week of the season, leading up to the final report released Oct. 28. The top eight teams in each region will qualify for the regional quarterfinals.
