Louisville QB Swigert out at least five weeks

Updated: Friday, September 25, 2009
LOUISVILLE  The top-ranked Louisville Leopards will be without QB Bob Swigert for at least the rest of the regular season. Swigert will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his right foot.

Swigert was injured Sept. 11 on a punt return during a 12-3 win over Akron Hoban. Louisville head coach Paul Farrah said the hope is that Swigert can return by the playoffs for the Leopards, Ohio's No. 1 ranked team in Division II.

Louisville (4-0, 1-0) hosts Northwest (2-2, 0-1) tonight.
