Shawn Ball had a hand in the game's final three touchdowns to help visiting Malvern erase an early deficit and advance past Thompson Ledgemont, 23-7, in a Division VI regional quarterfinal.

The fifth-seeded Hornets found themselves down early after Drew Derger caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Brad Sellers for Thompson Ledgemont for the opening score.

Ball answered back with two short touchdown runs and a 71-yard touchdown strike to receiver Max Kapron. Ball finished with 129 yards passing and 121 yards rushing.

Kapron was the game's leading receiver with 95 yards on three receptions.

Malvern has won its first-round playoff game the last four years.

Dan LaRosa carried the ball 23 times for 204 yards but failed to find the end zone for Thompson Ledgemont, which was the fifth seed.
